BEAM technologies is a startup from RIKEN that is developing LEDs with wavelengths between 200 nm and 230 nm, which are expected to be a next-generation light source. In addition to replacing agricultural chemicals, the special light has great potential to provide clean solutions to various ecological problems such as disease prevention in farmed fish, long-term storage of fresh food, and inactivation of allergens such as cedar pollen.
